Selling 3d printed model kits

Postby NovaDenied » May 8th, 2018, 11:04 pm

Hello all. I've decided to put my printer to work and start selling 3d printed model kits. I have 2 up for sale now and if the 2 models I have sell I will be printing more and selling 2 at a time, as these take 2 to 3 days to print each kit. I have an Acclamator that's roughly same scale as the revell 2700 republic cruiser and the Ebon Hawk that's 144th in scale with Bandaii's Falcon. They are not JPG level of detail but until they make the Ebon Hawk (if they do, here's hoping) or bring back the Acclamator, maybe some of you may want what i'm offering.

I have 2 more 144th scale Ebon Hawks for sale. I will need a week at least to ship after the 25th because of my surgery.

I say go for it. And as official spokesman for .JPG ( ;) ) I can tell you that I do have a 1:144 Ebon Hawk on order from Nicholas, but I have no idea on timeframe. Possibly not until this time next year. As for the Acclamator, mine is 1:2256, so you're good to go in your scale. :D

My Ebon Hawk has sold and I'm printing 2 more before I post any more for sale. However I'm going to have a surgery the 25th of this month and I will be stuck in bed for at least a week, so there will be a delay in shipping after the 25th. I still have the Acclamator up if anyone is interested. Thanks guys.

Can/will you make "replacement/upgraded "parts" for other model kits(not just models?) and what would you charge for the work/part?

I'm not a 3d modeler myself but if the parts files are available on thingiverse and not under a non commercial license, then yeah I suppose I could print em and sell em. Let me know what you have in mind and I will see if i can print it and depending on how many parts, I'll figure a a price. It will most likely be less than the models I'm selling.

If you star doing any vehicles in 1/72 or droids in 1/12, I'll be interested!

lol, yeah i'll leave the droids to the experts at JPG. and as for 1/72, I may do an upscale on the ebon hawk but it will have to be cut into 4 pieces because at 1/72 it would be at least a foot wide. It would likely be double the price too. I have a fine molds 72nd falcon I could use for scale, I'll give it a shot.
