JPG Outrider 1:144 challenge

Postby dark kyp » June 17th, 2018, 9:41 pm

Good evening guys, I've been quiet in here those times. :(
The reason is that I have a lot of not-starwars project in progress...

I am going to the hospital tomorrow in the morning (6am) to have an exam.
Long-story short: I'm fine but they are looking if I have epilepsya... And for that... I have to stay awake all night!

So I will go for a challenge! I will try to end the assembly of Jimi's outrider, light-up inclueded.
The kit is unstarted, unwashed, well, ready!

I'm waiting for my wife to go to bed to start. It's 09h30 pm in here! Can't wait :P

Of course: if I see I'm starting to do some crap due to the less of sleep... I'll stop. This is an awesome kit and I don't want to ruin it...

Here is the kit:

let's see how far I can go! :P

well guys, I've been that far:

- Cleaned all the parts
- Prepared almost all of the parts for assembly (excepted the guns)
- Modified the inside of the cocpit to be lighted
- Done the LEDs rack for the engines and wired all the LEDs
- Test-fited the trench sides

Next steps: add some fiber optic wires, glue the LED rack and find where to put the stand!

Hope your exam went well!
If you have a tool and aren't aware of what it can do, its dangerous. A jedi can do amazing things with a lightsaber. A roomful of chimps with lightsabers... would get messy.

Hello guys,

Thanks for your messages, they really makes me feel great! :)
the exam went well. The result is that I have nothing. :) :) :)

My faintness comes from an excess of stress and a lack of sleep... So I have to take it easy the next weeks and I will be fine. :)

I have to admit that that night of modeling was really great! Like some kind of fight against myself.

Here are some pictures of my progress:

Washing the kit using some dish soap:

Creating the LEDs rack for the engines:

Power on!

Making some room to light the cockpit:

I separated the seats from the wall to push the wall backward and add a door:

The kit parts cleaned:

Jimi, I found a part of the mold! Do you want i back? :P
