Re: Vader's First Fighter
I filled the gaps in the wings and the adjoining "hinges." Milliput is two part putty that can be smoothed with water and shaped with sculpting tools. It dries rock hard in 12 to 24 hours depending on temperature and humidity. Vader Fighter L Wing Miliput.jpg Vader - Miliput Wing.jpg Vader Miliput R...

Re: Vader's First Fighter
I painted and distressed the canopy and attached it with 15 minute epoxy. I covered it with tape to protect it. I attached the "Radiator Wings" and fixed them in the open position. The Kit includes a steel pin that fits into each wing and the body of the ship. I guess the premise is that you can pos...

Re: Vader's First Fighter
Using a combination of Tamiya tape and Mold Builders latex I masked the seams. I then painted the base flat black. Vader base - Black.jpg When dry I carefully removed the latex and touched up the edges by hand with a flat brush. I sealed it with flat lacquer and test fitted it on the wooden base. Th...

Re: Vader's First Fighter
Back at this. Busy year moving grandmother and nursing a back injury. I started a base for this model. After learning that Vader resides on Mustafar I thought I would attempt a lava base. I had a basswood plaque to mount it on. I started by cutting two layers of plastic the same size. After tracing ...
