Re: "I can hold it!" (Bandai 1/72 X-wing, Red 6)

Thanks everyone! Here are some early pictures of Porkin's X-wing. Everything on the model is done except for maybe a final topcoat of matte varnish. I got some 3/16" acrylic rod in the mail today that I will use to mount the model to a wooden plaque. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-IaPw68h7tGY/VlOhm23SLZI...

Re: "I can hold it!" (Bandai 1/72 X-wing, Red 6)

I hope you don't mind me using this for reference purposes for a future build. Excellent work! :D Thank you and please feel free! I'm more than happy to help! All of the oil and pigment weathering is complete! I used the same process on this ship that I did on Luke's: various oil paints for panel d...

Re: "I can hold it!" (Bandai 1/72 X-wing, Red 6)

Wow! That is really great! I love the Red 6 - but what about the areas where there are no reference photos available? Thanks! For the areas where there are no reference photos (which is most of it), I just went with artistic license. I also used Marc Elkins & Dan Grumeretz build of Red 6 as a guide.

"I can hold it!" (Bandai 1/72 X-wing, Red 6)

After my build of Luke's X-wing , I had some free time and an X-wing in pieces so I decided to do a quick build of the most endearing Rebel pilot from Star Wars: Jek Porkins! This is supposed to be a for-fun project, but when the client that I did Luke's X-wing for caught wind of it, he told me he w...

Re: Bandai Slave 1 - 1:144 scale

The cockpit interior is definitely green, but I think you should have gone with a darker, less saturated green. Another thing would be to maybe break up all of the green inside by painting some of the pipes and the console a different color, kind of like this one . Good work so far, I'm interested t...

Re: Bandai 1/72 X-wing (Red 5)

I know some people would say that it's weathered too heavily, but personally, I LOVE it! Thanks! You would think people would find it too heavily weathered? I kind of think the opposite, that it isn't weathered enough. I think I made the colors a little too vivid instead of worn down like on the st...

Bandai 1/72 X-wing (Red 5)

I just finished up my build of Bandai's 1/72 X-wing, painted as Luke Skywalker's Red 5. This model was commission by a friend of mine as part of a trench run diorama with Vader and his two wingmen. The three TIE fighters are also complete and now I have to start construction on the diorama that thes...

Re: Bandai 1/72 X-wing (Red 5)

I added the grey/black chipping on the S-foils and some other spots on the hull. I had forgotten to do this but luckily I caught it before I got any further on the weathering. It's a small detail but it's pretty distinctive and helps complete the model. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-sSxHic7VhQo/ViuXIQ6-...

Re: Bandai 1/72 X-wing (Red 5)

I had my camera out to take glamour shots of the TIEs for the Star Wars commission so I decided to take a couple of nice pictures of the Luke for a before and after shot when the weathering is complete. The model is extra shiny because it has two coats of Future on it in preparation of oil paints. P...
