Re: Son's first model
That is totally awesome! I have a 5 year old and she has started to show interest in Star Wars (unlike my wife!). She likes the models I build and I've asked her a few times if she wants to build an X-wing and she hasn't given me a straight answer yet (like a typical 5 year old). If it doesn't stick...

Re: Fine Molds 1/72 X-wing, Red Five
Working without sleep, I managed to finish the cockpit tub and instal it in to the fuselage. I decided against adding the tubes from the rear bulk head; I just didn't have it in me this morning. I highlighted the black areas with a Tamiya gunmetal weathering pastel and picked out some other details ...

Fine Molds 1/72 X-wing, Red Five
In my lull between commissions, I got some much needed time to work on some personal projects! I've been collecting these phenomenal Fine Molds Star Wars kits over the last year or so and I started putting them together. They have been a nice break from the mountain of 40K models I've been doing for...

Re: TIE Advanced x1 Fine Molds 1:72
Cool!
I just finished mine about a week ago (it's over in the Finished Work forum if you want to check it out) and it was a fun build. Plan on doing any weathering to it?

Re: Fine Molds 1/72 TIE/x1 Advanced
Thanks! I'm actually most disappointed with the base. I used a vinyl mask I made with a Silhouette Cameo and used water to get it positioned right (which actually was great). I dried it with some paper towels and let it sit for a while. I got tired of waiting and decided to spray the black on... and...

Fine Molds 1/72 TIE/x1 Advanced
Since I am between commissions right now, I managed to get some work done to some personal projects. After completing the TIE/Ln fighter, I wanted to tackle something a little more complicated (in terms of painting at least). For Darth Vader's personal starfighter, I decided that a "factory fresh" p...

Fine Molds 1/72 TIE/Ln fighter
As a long time lurker, I'd like to share my first completed Star Wars model (as well as my first completed scale model in general). I began painting wargaming figures in 2012 before taking the leap in to scale models (Star Wars models specifically) this year, so I wasn't without any experience. I ha...
