Rebels "Ghost"

Whether you're looking for reference materials, that elusive mesh or something more exotic, this is the place to ask (nicely!).

Yeah...that's a fine idea, but lack of time and skill means it would likely never be finished in any decent form. I'm sure someone far more talented than me will get it done!

Part of the joy, for me at least, of building models, is the research that goes into learning how the thing I am modeling was built, and then figuring out how to build it in scale.
That said: - - - I spent a week on the coastal schooner "Stephen Taber" ( Built in Glen Head, L.I. N.Y. in 1871 ), about 20 miles North of where I grew up . The Schooner "Mattie", formerly the "Grace Bailey", ( built In Patchogue, L.I. N.Y. in 1882 ), about 20 miles East of where I grew up. Both, now sail out of Camden Me..
I plan on modifying the lines drawing of the "Mattie", by lengthening the hull, and then.... Lofting, and cutting the frames, to build a 1:87 scale Tern ( Three mast Schooner ) as a Plank On Frame, Waterline model.
Why ??, you may ask.......Because it's another learning curve

is where I posted a photo of "Sihaya", my first Plank On Frame Scratch build.
Pete Seeger's "Clearwater" was built in South Bristol, Me.

It's OK....I DVR'ed a marathon this Saturday and will probably watch them over the next week or so. It's a weird ship and the little pop-out fighter/shuttle thing is stupid. But hey, if there was a 1/144 or 1/350 I'd build it. NOT 1/72...that's for sure. That's some prime real estate...

Need to build 30 models per year until I'm 90 to clean out the stash. Time to get cracking!

True, true - and unfortunately he's one of the ones that needs to want one!

Well, I for one think the Ghost is a very cool looking ship; and would love one in 1/72 scale.

My ability to scratch build, however, is limited to making a box and a scar on my thumb from the exacto knife.
