I swear those barrel bits look familiar...where'd you source them?
Need to build 30 models per year until I'm 90 to clean out the stash. Time to get cracking!

The Barrels themselves I made from brass rods. The greebles on the guns were from a Revell USS Saratoga kit that I found at my work. I work at a college and we have a "Free Market" which people drop off stuff they dont want. I check this everyday for things I can use for this hobby. And one time I found this unopened Revell kit! Made my day!! :D

Some WIP Pics:

I have the main body put together and most of detailing done. I need to align\attach the cockpit tube (which is taking quite some time.) I have fiber running through a channel into the main body from the dash for some lighting.
(the plug in the front of the cockpit is only for masking purposes.)

You may notice I attached a dish on the right side of the beast. I thought it needed it to balance out the design. This will not be built as a stock YT-2400 rather a republic\jedi version.

The engine panel is removable with magnets so I can house all the wiring\switches\batteries inside the ship.

I replaced the exhaust stacks, again to give it a more old republic look.

The paint scheme I am planning on will be something similar to this:

When I was stationed at NTC Great Lakes, as an instructor, one of the other instructors used to "hunt" for aluminum cans in the Dumpsters. I asked him. " if you have to move any plastic kits out of your way to get to a can", move them to a box for me.
:D I still have "greeblies" I haven't used from the stash I got. He even "moved" partially assembled models :o that he found. :D :D Cars, planes, ships, whatever !!!
