1/4222 Smuggler's Alliance
"In 1 ABY, Talon Karrde and some of Billey's people worked together in an organization which was referred to as the Smuggler's Alliance. This would later be an inspiration for another Smuggler's Alliance, which found its roots in the loose coalition of top smugglers brought together by Karrde on Trogan to aid the New Republic against the assaults of Grand Admiral Thrawn." - Wookiepedia
I was going to just build the Victory II Frigate, but I got a lot of new castings from Utar Ships that changed my mind. I now have a small fleet of smuggler vessels, so I'm going to build the various ships of the Alliance put together by Talon Karrde.
These are early test casts of the Victory II, and the mold ran under the detail on the bottom, so I had to use some styrene to fix it up some. The masters are being touched up, and the final production run will not have this problem.

Re: Victory II frigate
Yeah those knobs were supposed to be turrets. In the game the turrets are just plain bumps...

Re: Victory II frigate
Ahh, that makes sense. I'm sure it's hard trying turn game references into a kit. Most of the Google search images I've found don't match each other. This thing is packed with detail, I'll take some better pics with good camera soon.nicholassagan wrote:Yeah those knobs were supposed to be turrets. In the game the turrets are just plain bumps...

This is going to be SWEET!
Need to build 30 models per year until I'm 90 to clean out the stash. Time to get cracking!

Wow, those are some tiny ships, and suprisingly detailed for there size.
Cool looking fleet!

If you have a tool and aren't aware of what it can do, its dangerous. A jedi can do amazing things with a lightsaber. A roomful of chimps with lightsabers... would get messy.

Yeah, the casting on those tiny guys is amazing. My magnifying lens is going to get a work out on this one.

This looks like a great entry- what is the arrowhead shaped grey model (topmost picture) from?
Looks like an Imperial design, but hey- smugglers would have a very diverse portfolio of ship designs in their fleet!
Reading through the amazing Knights of the Old Republic series got me thinking on how many thousands of different ship classes must exist in SW- hundreds of generations of designs!
Really makes anything possible and might indicate that owning a ship design from even the current century might be seen as a status symbol.
Time to go through the parts bins again, in other words.
