Yeah, white decal paper works too. I used that for the Twin Bombardier, but not from Testors. The problem again comes down to complex decal designs. Something with easy lines to cut would be fine, but something more complex could be a pain to cut precisely on the line so no white is on the edge, and no part of the decal is accidentally snipped away.johnwaljr wrote:hi everyone probably the wrong area to chime in but testor's put out a white background decal paper. I don't know if this helps or if anyone here has ever used it but maybe this will help.

You can occasionaly get around that problem by giving the opaque decal a background to match the model's hull color.
You'd have to blend the decal edge with paint or maybe use the edge as a hull panel.
I've been decaling all night to complete my builds so it's fresh on my mind.

Huh. Had no idea about the whole ALPS situation. It seems hard to believe that there isn't another technology to replace it?

Need to build 30 models per year until I'm 90 to clean out the stash. Time to get cracking!

Oh, and btw, my entry for Scum & Villainy is finished! Added some streaking and pigments all around, cleaned up the canopy and threw in my Cloakshape pilot as a placeholder until his replacement arrives. This has me really fired up to build some more 1/72 fighters...

Thanks Tim! Actually, I finished a long ongoing build today shortly after this one - the Al Wong Cloakshape fighter (I'm editing pics right now).
As for what's next? Hmmmm...I think I owe Del a build.
T-16? TIE Bomber?

On a more serious note, really nice work. This is a good piece that showcases your painting and finishing skills really nicely. You sir (sire!) have a good touch!

Looks killer- figures the Black Sun pilot would be in orange- never trust a man (or whatever) in orange.
