Ponda Baba's Ride

So, I'm tossing around ideas. Narrowed it down to three. Either way this will be Ponda Baba's ride; a smugglin' pirating, scum box.

Idea #1 is to scratch build a G9 RIgger in 1/72.

Idea #2 is to resume work on a heavily modified YT-1300 (using AMT Falcon) that I started back in 2013. I basically have the hull chopped up and a pile of parts collected.

Idea #3 is to design and scratch build something else...not as big as the G9 Rigger, again in 1/72.

So far it's more or less a tie between #1 and #2 but #2 would likely be easier since it's started. I'd hate to end up with yet another shelf queen.

ooohhhh that looks sweet!!! The YT-would look awesome and so would the G9 RIgger. The G9 RIgger seems to be a better fit for the Walrus in my opinion though.

Thanks. Yeah the G9 has more of a Walrus feel for sure.

Another option is to finish this. It's a design I came up with a few years back; started the build too. Never did blog/video it. It's more in the 1/48 vein. Not sure what scummy fig I could add to it. I have the Jabba kit, some of the dudes in there could work.

More of a fighter, could be a pirate ship.




It would have guts on the outside ala falcon, and greeblies and stuffs.

To be honest, ANY of these would be awesome! Guess I have to vote for the YT, though - have wanted to do exactly what you've started and would love to see an in-progress example.

Wicked Scott. Any of them would be great...but something about the fighter thing sounds promising. You wouldn't have to limit yourself to a fighter-style fuselage though. The Moldy Crow isn't much larger than a Y-Wing and seemingly has enough room for 2 people +droid...

The last one looks like it has pontoons for water landings, ideal for a Walrus man. All are great though.

Thanks. Do you think that would "work" in 1/72? I mean those X wings parts are totally the 1/43 kit. Only reason is that my Ponda fig is 1/72 cantina.
