So what would a theme be?

All open?

Something from the Force Awakens?
If you have a tool and aren't aware of what it can do, its dangerous. A jedi can do amazing things with a lightsaber. A roomful of chimps with lightsabers... would get messy.

I'd say now and onward to the spring? That should give people enough time to get what kits are available NOW as well as any that are released between now and this spring. Bandai's Captain Phasma is due in February :P

I'd also say it's a theme not limited just to available KITS obviously. Any source/format is fair game as long as it's seen in THE FORCE AWAKENS (or based on something new introduced therein IE a GREEN squad X-Wing, etc).

Also, NO SPOILERS!! Meaning POST ***SPOILER ALERT*** in the thread title if it's a THING we haven't seen prior to the release.

Me to.

It will give me the incentive to detail and paint up some Revell X-wings

Sweet! I will wait until I see the movie to decide what to do.

I think I am going to try to do something with this:

Image

I know I know (keep the laughter to a minimum fellas please :D )...its really not that great a kit. But it's affordable (especially with the Hobby Lobby 40% coupon) and a challenge to see what you can do with it. Plans are a complete repaint, scratch built upper and lower laser cannons, rebuilt/enhanced cockpit interior (lighted?), details added to the landing gear, details added to the boarding ramp, details added to the upper and lower saucer and mandibles sections, and hopefully lower the sides to a more realistic height (haven't formed a plan of attack for that one yet). There are no figures in the kit so that presents an issue. Like I wrote above, not a great kit but a challenge. We'll see what we can do.

Cheers!
Don.

I believe that's the larger snap kit (i.e. not the smaller sound and lights level 1 kit) it should be fairly close in size to the Fine Molds 1/72 Falcon

As such, I believe the micromachine line of figures should be about right for it.
