AT-AT transport

Post by Unreality » January 20th, 2015, 12:09 am

So, I am delaying getting back to my Falcon project, and instead finishing something I started a few years back and shelved for whatever reason. It's an AT-AT barge, roughly 1/500 scale, which is close to the Micro Machines AT-ATs. The body is built from a 1/35 Sd.kfz 251 hull that I scrapped. The rest is a lot of styrene. Originally I was going to make a diorama, but I think I'll just build it and paint it as is. I still need to add some more greeblies and panels to it.

Sorry the white background washes it out. I need to get a dark background again.

Ooh, I haven't seen one of these either! Looking forward to where this goes
If you have a tool and aren't aware of what it can do, its dangerous. A jedi can do amazing things with a lightsaber. A roomful of chimps with lightsabers... would get messy.

Man that's fucking cool. I wonder...would the 1/350 AT-ATs fit? Don't they have the ability to kneel down for deployment?

Thanks guys.

The 350th AT-ATs are just a little big. Technically, F-toys got their AT-ATs on the small side if you go with the 22.5 meters tall reference (the old 15.5 m just doesn't add up). So that would make the 1/350 AT-ATs closer to 1/450. They could work if I did a diorama with the walker deployed...but it would be hard to fit them in the carrier itself.

Yeah, unless they're stored in the kneeling position and have some sort of deployment rack like the Trade Federation carriers...

Very true, and it would look really cool...providing I wouldn't need therapy after articulating the miniscule legs of 1/450 scale walkers.

Well, here's the latest updates. I've been detailing up everything I can.

The front still needs some work, but you can see the hinges, forward floodlights, and the command viewport, which is offset.

This is the underside with lots of greeblies.

And here is the rear section. I still need to add more detail to the engines...just trying to figure out how to do that.
