1/8000 Imperial & Rebel fleet

Post by Thomas The Human » May 26th, 2017, 10:31 pm

Doing some tests on a cheap 3d printer I got from china. Already looks quite well, you can see the layers but they are 50 micron high, I can go as low as 25 micron accuracy. Here is MC30c frigate I printed recently.

I'm very tempted the V1.4 seems to be reliable enough, and the price is still low.

Can you show us the top of the ship please? It's a really nice print.

My version is 1.3, the 1.4 came out the day after my 1.3 was shipped... The other side has terrible detail, but it's case of clear resin (trans-orange in this case), the light goes through model and cures resin flowing on the model on the other side. Going to buy solid resin (monocure rapid) soon, this is only for tests. Got some tiny models like this from the net, but already near-finished my model of Aggressor-class star destroyer which in this scale will be 20cm long. Also making models of Victory-I and II (my interpretations) as well as Imperator-I and II, this will be cool to compare them hand to hand! of course want to make most of the ships will be with lights (in some of the smallest ones it's impossible cr90 is 1cm long, will try to add lighting to Nebulon B but I think that's also near impossible to pull fiber opt into it)

Victory-I and Immobiliser 418 Interdictor. 11,25cm and 7,5cm long, still waiting for white resin, should arrive next week, will start to print then.

I have a lot of ships already done in 1/7000 resin. Not exactly the same scale but might be close enough to use if you want some smaller support ships for a fleet set up.
