Dornean Gunships in 1:2256

Post by Jason Abbadon » November 15th, 2017, 10:16 pm

I finished two of Nick's wonderful Dornean Gunships (available from his Shapeways page).

On the red and white version, I just added the obvious guns. And the red triangle decal on the nose!

On the white and grey version, I decided to make a electronic countermeasures ship and added two big dishes on the ventral side as well as two big arrays on the sides. I also added some printed SW turrets from Utar.

Better pics later, once I buy a new black backdrop- cat got the last backdrop!

NICE WORK Jason :)
Both very snazzy but I personally prefer the white and grey for some reason seems to accentuate the grandness of the space vehicle.

I really gotta take better pics- hopefully today.
You can't see all the decals I added- like the Aurbesh lettering on the sides of the white ship.

On the one with white, black and red, I was going for an RTOJ A-Wing scheme- with the idea of making a squadron of mixed ships flying those colors.
Maybe I'll add in a freighter or two with those colors...

Slightly better pics....
I'm trying to show the new lower sensor dishes but it's tricky.

The white version got additional sensor palates where the red one for side guns.

The white ship maybe jams comms and Target lock while being fast and nimble enough not to get picked off by fighters. It's three turrets help keep fighters at Bay as well.

Lots of detail for such a small thing

Painting looks just right for the scale as well
If you have a tool and aren't aware of what it can do, its dangerous. A jedi can do amazing things with a lightsaber. A roomful of chimps with lightsabers... would get messy.

The mods you made look like they were supposed to be there all along. And I like the paint designs as they really differentiate the look based upon mission roles.
