Vader's First Fighter

Darth Vader's black Eta-2 Actis-class Interceptor was one of the ships flown by Darth Vader during the early days of the Galactic Empire. The fighter was painted mostly black to camouflage it against the backdrop of space. I worked on this on and off since 2014. All of the decals were created in Photoshop and printed on an inkjet printer. The cables on the main guns are made from three classical guitar string twisted together. Classical guitar strings have nickel wire wrapped around a nylon core so they are easy to bend and twist. The "eye" of the droid is a red LED. With the canopy in place it is a little difficult to see Vader in the cockpit. I will post cockpit close ups upon my next log in. The entire build log is posted in the WIP section of the forum.

This is really awesome. I was following your build, but I don't think I ever noticed the red eye on the droid before. Cool! Makes the droid look pretty sinister! Could have this R2 with 0-0-0 as an evil r2 and 3-P0 team.

Ramsayman, thanks! I appreciate your comment. The red accents and droid eye are part of the "Sith" theme trying to reference the preferred red light saber blade of the Sith. Great idea for a pair of evil "Sith" droids. Black R2 unit and a black chrome interpreter droid.
