Thinking about what to do for my next project. The star trek discovery bird of prey looks like it may be a good challenge.
I need to find a star trek forum to post wip in. Is there a sister forum to this?

Stunning detail!! Saw this posted on a Facebook group. Did you enter a contest at ValleyCon or was it just on display?

I did, actually! I won gold in the star wars category, and then best model in sci-fi. I thought I was all done and then someone tapped me and told me they just announced the ship won the best in show.
I entered my republic assault shuttle last year and didnt win anything. The show has all these amazing plane and tank modelers. My wife was ga ga about Jim Fry and his fantastic models last year. So I went with no expectations this year. It was just an unreal day.
I love the lights they have in the convention center. And my wife’s new iphone. I was able to take a couple of good pictures.

Thanks, daniel, srspicer and ramsayman, you are most kind and supportive! I must be missing something about upside down? Do you mean I should turn the model upside down? I do that when I paint actual paintings to check color composition. But never thought to do it for models.

No - he means the majority of your pictures are upside down in your posts. Not sure if its the same for everybody but it is for me (I was sort of thinking it might be because I'm in the wrong hemispere
). The last photos, from the iphone, were right side up though.
BTW this is an absolutely fantastic build and has given me lots of good tips on scratch building - a well deserved win!
